Happy new year! Can you believe it’s the twenties again?! Time sure flies by.
It’s been unseasonably warm around here lately, but I’m happy to report we already had some snow during Thanksgiving break. I love snow!
Yesterday was sunny and warm so we headed outside to do some chores. First, I shoveled up all the BEAR POOP that was lying around the yard. There has been a bear hanging around, quite a bit judging by the amount of pooping going on, but hopefully it’s moved on.
Then we raked up all the oak leaves on one side of the house and piled them up in the garden. I plan on mulching all of the raised beds wit leaves this year. I tried one bed the year prior and it really kept the weeds away. I’m already so excited about this year’s garden, maybe this year I will finally, maybe, feel like I know what I’m doing.
We made some repairs on the chicken run and then I pruned the orchard trees. I don’t really know what I’m doing with the trees, but hopefully I did enough to inspire them to give us lots of fruit this summer.
While we were putting the leaves in the garden enclosure, we found out something ate our chicken. I have no idea what could have done this, there weren’t even any feathers left on the ground. Poor chicken.
It reminds me of the Blair Witch 😬
